General Questions About Materials and Services

What is the difference between granite and quartz?

The main difference between the two is granite is a natural material and quartz is a composite engineered stone made from granite, quartz, and resin. To find out more go to our “Granite, Quartz, or Dekton how to make the right Choice” page

Do you sell direct to the public?

Yes, we do. While we are well-known for collaborating with kitchen companies, we have also been selling directly to the public since our inception. Many of our clients choose to project manage their own kitchen renovations, and as a result, a significant portion of our business now comes from direct sales to homeowners.

Can you provide samples of granite, Dekton and quartz?

We offer a wide variety of samples to suit different aesthetic preferences and project requirements. However, as the samples are rather heavy, we do not send them out. We can bring some to show you if you request a quote, or you can visit our showroom.

Are your worktops manufactured in the UK?

All our granite and quartz worktops are produced at our factory in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield. Manufacturing locally allows for quicker turnaround times and better quality control.

Questions About the Process

How can I request a quote?

To request a quote, simply call us or alternatively you can email us.

Can I just have my work surfaces replaced and keep my existing units?

Yes, you can, providing the old units are good enough to support the weight of the granite/quartz/Dekton.

How do you measure what size of granite, Dekton or quartz we will need?

We use state-of-the-art laser templating for precise measurements. After we have given you a quote, we will then come and measure up your kitchen and make an exact template.

How long will it take after you have made the template to the install?

We aim to have your granite, Dekton or quartz fitted within 5 working days after we've made your templates.

Payment and Location

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Bank Transfer, and cheque. Payment is due in full at the end of the installation. A 50% deposit is required for specialist orders. To find out more go to our “How to order” page

Do you have geographical restrictions for installations?

We are based in Huddersfield but often do work in UK wide.

Specific Concerns and Add-Ons

Can I add to my worktops later?

Yes, you can, however, sometimes it’s not possible to get an exact colour match.

Will there be joints in my worktops/countertops?

We endeavour to make as few joints as possible in your worktops. However, the need for joints depends on the size of your kitchen and the dimensions of the slabs provided by the manufacturer. If your kitchen dimensions exceed the size of the available slabs, a joint will be necessary. Many slabs come in jumbo sizes, measuring 324 x 146 cm.

Will you re-plumb sink/taps in after the work surface has been installed?

After your new work surfaces have been installed, our skilled team will take care of re-plumbing your sink and taps. We ensure that everything is correctly fitted and fully functional with your new setup. However, it's important to note that if there are any complex plumbing requirements, these should be pre-arranged with the necessary tradesmen.

Aftercare and Maintenance

Do you offer aftercare services?

We do not offer a standard aftercare package, but we are available for consultation if you call and ask for it.

How do I care for and maintain my stone worktop?

Maintenance varies depending on the type of stone. For example, granite may require periodic sealing, while quartz is generally low-maintenance. To find out more go to our “Granite, Quartz, or Dekton how to make the right Choice” page
